The second part of the AI image generation for the Seven Bowl Judgements of Revelation. It occurred to me today that it would be fun at the end of this series to put all of the verses together in one place of the judgements, and along side each verse, the image that I felt most aptly displays what is conveyed. One flaw in the idea is that there will be little consistency of ideas that recur and styles. It should still be fun.
Continuing with the judgements, we come to the third.
The Third Bowl Judgement
Revelation 16:4-7
"The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: “You are just in these judgments, O Holy One, you who are and who were; for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.” And I heard the altar respond: “Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments."
The text was pretty clear in it's description that it was an angel that was to be pouring out the bowl. Despite that, the depiction of what is pouring it out seems inconsistent. To infer that the being pouring is what the AI intended to depict as an angel would be fair, but comparing images makes me skeptical that it is the goal. In this one, it appears to be less an angel and more of a spirit without characteristics that would typically accompany an angel.
In iteration 2, the subject would seem closer to a deity. I'm not sure if it is just the colors or the sun and near symbols as well, but it would seem hindu in style.
This one is neat, but way in left field. I don't think it really captures anything from the verse, but it is interesting to me. It is also interesting that the AI seems to connect the idea of angels to pillared structures. My thought is that it likely has something to do with Greek and Roman mythology and their prevalence in art examples that the AI is trained with.
This would make a cool album cover.
Well... it has wings... beyond that, it is one disheartening looking angel.
Again the pillars repeat. It is also interesting to not that when pillars are present, it often seems to be in a circular form. I do see that expressed in other images without pillars, but it seems more common when they are present.
Again, cool album art. Not really following the message, though.
This one captivated me for a while once it was generated. I ran it through a couple of enhancement attempts. In ways, this does seem like a fine representation. The half formed griffins would be better finished.
Gandolf the White is being initiated.
I interpret the circle of golden clouds as a representation of deity. The composition of the image is quite beautiful.
With all the elements observed, this feels less like an angel pouring out the blood and more like the aftermath with them drinking it.
I think this is the image I would use for the chosen one depiction if I do follow through with that idea.
The Fourth Bowl Judgement
Revelation 16:8-9
"The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him."
These ones get fairly intense. Often the sun has a face. I think is is because it says the sun "was allowed" to scorch people with fire. The implication of an act being unrestrained gives a notion of intention and sentience.
"I dear say, old chap. It is a scorcher out today." "Indeed."
The rain comes down but brings no relief to the people.
Part 3 to follow with the last three bowl judgements.
